The Eden Rock Hotel, nestling into the startlingly blue ocean surrounding the classy Caribbean island of St Barths, evolved from an imaginatively sited house built fifty years ago by Remy DeHaenen, a celebrated local adventurer and Mayor of the island.

In 1995, the property was bought by an English couple - David & Jane Matthews - who intended to use it as a private holiday home. However, a small bar was operating … which was kept running … a new team of amiable young people was recruited… one thing followed another… A considerable amount of money was spent… and five years later Eden Rock Hotel was invited to join the world class Relais & Chateaux group of ultra-luxe hotels.

These days Eden Rock employs one hundred and forty staff to look after sixty-six guests. Use of the famous French word “non” is banned at Eden Rock – come and test us out…”

A virtue for every plant

Why the papaya? “Because one of the constituents is the papaïne, the only vegetal enzyme capable of digesting proteins. This is what is expected from an exfoliating cream, the effect is strengthened with the addition of jojoba pearls, which help eliminate impurities” explains Hervé Brin.”There is a reason for the presence of every plant in every product”. Hence, the maracudja of the island of Guadeloupe that is used to make the cream facemasks from pink clay and passion fruit for its soothing properties. The “roucou” has been renown in the Caribbean since times long gone by, for its capacity in stimulating the production of melanin, which promotes tanning of the skin and protects it from the harmful rays of the sun. It’s the same story for all the other plants, flowers and fruits used in the composition of the LIGNE ST BARTH’s products.The mango, a native fruit of India and very widespread in the Antilles, contains within its seed, an oleaginous pip from which mango butter is derived. It contains a complex, exceptional lipid, which nourishes, regenerates and restores the flexibility of the skin. The pineapple, which comes from the island of Martinique and is used in the composition of the green clay and pineapple mask, is known for its power of absorption.

For 3 years now, this fabulous magazine has traveled to the islands of Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, Anguilla and Saint Barthélemy. This year we are innovating, not just by presenting 2 different covers and printing the French text on recycled paper at the end of the magazine, but also by distributing Caviar magazine in Saint Kitts at the Royal Golf Club and at the Marriott Resort Hotel.

Le studio niu design a une fois de plus frappé fort en concevant avec l’aide de l’architecte Pablo Marroquin et du designer Olivier Leroi cette villa aux accents contemporains tout à fait en phase avec l’ergonomie du terrain. Une fois de plus l’originalité est de mise. N’empreintant aucune référence sur l’île, cette architecture épurée joue la parfaite harmonisation avec la nature. La volonté de Olivier leroi et de Pablo Marroquin était dès le départ d’apporter à cette villa une ambiance chaleureuse et très agréable à vivre, “une maison de famille…”;  en jouant avec des matériaux nobles tels que la pierre pays, le bois et des tonalités naturelles. Un toit végétalisé servira à la fois d’isolant pour le salon et de décoration pour le visiteur qui arrive par le haut du terrain et qui pourra découvrir de ce fait, un jardin suspendu.Une baie vitrée de 11 mètres de long sur 4 mètres de haut et surtout sans aucun poteau vous accueillera dès votre arrivée dans le salon, dans lequel vous découvrirez la vue époustouflante sur la mer des Caraibes. Ensuite une master magique se situant dans le volume cubique suspendu d’un seul tenant, laissera rêveur plus d’un visiteur…

Enfin, tout ce projet est accompagner comme d’abitude, par une décoration originale et particulièrement soignée et comptemporaine qui apportera à cette villa un charme incomparable.

Dunes: this 16,000 sq. ft new property is set by itself on a hill over 2.5 acre of totally unspoiled land. It overlooks the turquoise ocean looking south, and the steep tropical green and orange hills looking east. Situated within easy walking distance of the smooth white sands of Saline beach, it offers St. Barth’s most pristine access to the ocean.

Two phrases best describe the style of the island’s newest property: exquisitely refined luxury and the most modern amenities. In “Dunes” you, your family and your guests will enjoy the most modern comfort in the finest style and quietly forget the stress of urban life.

“Dunes ” main house features three floors including large bedrooms and living rooms, two kitchens, spacious wooden decks, two heated pools (80 ft and 40 ft), three bathrooms, graded terraces, the largest tropical garden of the island; all delineated with elegant grey stonewalls. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. In addition, the property includes two guest villas 300 feet down the hill. “Dunes” Living Areas

The housing is spacious, equipped with stylish contemporary furniture matching the island’s tropical location, long dining tables for up than 20 guests, wide and deep sofas, plus the most modern electronics and wifi.

In every room, the designer furniture is made out of deep brown “Wenge” wood and white blasted oak wood. The parquet floors are made of lacquered white oak.

The villa’s main floor features a master bedroom, a large living room and two fully equipped kitchens; one air-conditioned and the other open on the dining area with a high bar. The two swimming pools are at that as well, but within the outdoors deck: one lap pool for the exercise-oriented, eighty-foot long; and one “family” pool with graded access, forty-foot long.

The villa’s top floor offers one master bedroom and two adjacent bedrooms, each with its bathroom. It has a sweeping view on the ocean, the pools and the terraces. Two guest bedrooms are located on each side of that master bedroom; one has a private access to a deck overlooking the ocean view, and one offers a grand view on the Saline pond and the hills beyond.
